In 1924, Chicago cops got the drop on the Al Capone Mob, forcing them to the suburbs. At Cicero, Big Al held ground, opening up a casino: The Hawthorne Smoke Shop. Fine tobacco in front, roulette and dice in back. Al kept a cigar vault there, his bundle of Havanas at the ready.
Al is history. But his vault lives on.
